MEETINGS

We meet most weeks - usually Wednesday nights from 7-9pm - during the club season (September to May). Our meetings cover a wide array of topics, from competitions to education.

Our primary meeting types are:

Competitions

We call them ‘Salons’, and they typically take place the first meeting of each month. Each Salon features a judge who is a local professional photographer who scores and provides constructive feedback for each submitted photo.

Photographers Round Table

The focus of the round table is more artistic than technical, although editing suggestions are typically part of the feedback. An open forum. where members are invited to share any images (typically ones they are considering for submission) for feedback and suggestions from other members. It is extremely informal and open to all members of any skill level.

Digital User’s Group (DUG)

The focus of the DUG is more technical. Typically a member presents a topic that can range from post-processing tools and techniques to camera settings and setup. Examples include luminosity masks, macro photography setup, monitor color calibration and printing.

Guest Speakers

We invite a variety of guest speakers that are experts on a wide array of photography-related topics. These may be local experts presenting in-person or remote who present via Zoom. Recent topics include HDR, macro photography techniques and nature photography.

FIELDTRIPS

Throughout the year, there are multiple member-sponsored field trips to photogenic New England locations. Past trips include Nubble Lighthouse in Maine, Gold Glove boxing in Lowell, Snowy Owl photography at Parker River National Wildlife Refuge and Zakim Bridge in Boston.

Any member can (and is encouraged to) attend or lead a trip.
